seems odd. I use new sandisk 16gb ones in my 1D3 and also have 2,4,8gb that all work fine.
Hopefully you just had some weird cards and doesnt turn out to be some camera issue.

biggest cards I have are 4G Sandisks...


some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

Glad that you are back up and running with CF cards! I've had cards go bad in the past also.

Every now and then when you take out the CF card and put it back in it gives me an error. You have to remove it and put it back in again and then it works. I prefer CF to SD. But I'll carry SD cards for backup in case CF quits working.

That is not normal behavior, my guess is that the card slot is faulty. Definitely keep the SD cards handy.
