FS: Canon 400mm f/4 DO and case

I'm selling my beloved Canon 400mm f/4 DO. THIS IS A VERSION 1 LENS. The lens is in very good condition. Really the only wear is minor paint scuffing where the lens hood connects/disconnects. TI've found this lens to be amazing for handheld shots of birds in flight. It take the Canon 1.4x teleconverter really well )giving the user an easy to hold 560mm working length at f/5.6) When combined with a crop sensor camera, reach is really nice.

The reason for selling is simple: I just have too much gear and I really, really want the new 200-400 f/4. I'm selling this and a few more items to jump to the 200-400 f/4, which is a really big cost item.

A few images with the lens. Actually one image showing the full frame and then one extreme crop showing a small insect by the leopard. This lens is also AMAZING for birds in flight in that you get f/4 and f/5.6 with all focus points when you use the 1.4x T/C. That's a real advantage when shooting in lower light.

I've lowered the price of this to $2350. Considering the value of shooting f/4 at 400 and being able to shoot f/5.6 with a 1.4x TC making this a 560mm, this is an awesome lens. I'm only parting because of a desire to move to the 200-400. Trust me, this lens has a great history. A couple of images. Just grab shots from a safari. Fairly high ISO at 640 so a touch of noise. F/5.6 so closed one stop, but I think you get the point. first is the 'full shot' and close up is 100% crop of a portion. I don't think front teeth were even the key focus point, but I could check. Point is, this lens is sharp.

I'm a bit surprised I haven't gotten any PM's on this as this is a really good condition lens and is quite sharp.
