One worry I had was that these files would be so big that my existing laptop would grind to a halt!
I am, and will upgrade the Laptop, but as I can't get the envisaged whopping discount on the HP Workstation, I will have to sell my 5D3 to fund the PC migration.

Apart from a few times - I was pleasantly surprised, that the Laptop really does cope pretty seamlessly. I do have an SSD disc with a 6 MB/s SATA III controller. Yes, there are moments when it goes mental in turbo mode, and the fan screams but its only a few seconds - overall though, it is very workable.

I Thought I Would post this discovery as it was a concern I had and may worry others who like myelf are a little technically challenged Computerwise..

There is one niggle, my usual workflow was to edit the raw and produce one full size JPEG and one small one for Web usage. And I would email both to a Model.
The full size JPEG is now about 37MB ( very dependant on the detail in the image ). And I can not email it :( :(
So I now convert it down using DPP4 to an additional 18MB file.

So edited storage implications are that one needs considerably more space
Definitely worth it - but significant.

Screen resolution.
Even with the 5D3 I felt an upgrade toma 4K screen would be a bonus.
This feeling is really confirmed with these files. I just dont think the 1920 x 1080p screen does it justice.
I trundled over to my rich friend who has a 27" 4K screen, and had a peak!
Wow I Really do like this camera!! ( for studio stuff )

TBH I found the 27" screen a bit overbearing. And will go the 24" route quite happily ( initially size was dictated because of budget constraints ). The other factor is my "editing office" is only 14' x 15', so its a relatively small room. And the wife does not want my stuff in the lounge.

IMO the detail really hits you in the face. I know everyone will paste me - "what do you want that for - only 5% of your pics will ever be made into big 60"x 45" prints etc!"

My answer, for viewing, and for editing - especially the latter - bye bye zooming in! :)

I am happy to keep updating my findings about using this camera, but please take it as a non technical personal evaluation - and hope it might be useful for some considering it for Studio, and Landscapes.

Real world observations are ALWAYS welcome! Especially for cameras that many won't have. Keep 'em coming!

Thanks, I found them useful e.g. Wallstreetoneils stuff. I never trust these sponsered reviews.
