I thought Sony said they were going to focus on FF? The rumor of the new A6xxx never happened. I wonder about this.

A-mount is dead. It doesn't have the lens selection of Canon and Nikon mounts, and, unlike E-mount, doesn't allow the use of third-party lenses via adapters due to the large flange distance.

Sony may as well offer a service to convert A-mount lenses to E-mount, and concentrate on putting more powerful batteries, processors and faster EVFs into cameras to bring E-mount up to the same standard as SLRs for action photography (much easier in a full-size camera body instead of a mirrorless A7/NEX body). Because electronics is where Sony's strengths lie and where its future is.
