My neighbor showed me this butterfly chrysalis he found. He said it was on the ground in one of his large planters so he moved it to a smaller one. I have no idea what type it is or whether it will continue to develop. Apparently it's still alive as the neighbor said it moved when he touched it.

Any suggestions as to what species it might be welcome.


This is a 5 image stack to increase depth of focus.

Ok, I believe it's a Tomato hornworm chrysalis and will morph into a Sphinx Moth. Interesting, whatever it is.
