Hi!

I need a 17 windows laptop which I would like to use for client presentations (wedding photography) and editing.

Until recently, I had a 17 macbook pro but I would like to move away from mac.

I wild like to have something presentable. I don't really want to have a gaming laptop because it is just too futuristic looking. I liked the clean look of my old macbook pro.

Do you have anything you can recommend?

Thanks!

I'd look at Lenovo.

I have a Toshiba P75-A7200 that is pretty much the same chassis as the 17" MBP.

It's now discontinued, but if you can track one down, it's the best notebook for the money.

It comes with a quad-core i7, 2.4/3.2GHz CPU, Intel 4600 graphics, 8Gb RAM, and a 750Gb 5400RPM drive. 17" 1920*1080 display.

I added a pair of 8Gb 1.35V DIMMs (for a total of 24Gb) to the board, replaced the primary HDD with a 256Gb Samsung SSD drive, and put a 7200RPM WD Black drive in the second drive bay, all for just under $1000US. It absolutely flies through anything I throw at it. I used mine hooked up to an external 28" 4K monitor, but the internal display is quite nice while traveling.

If you can live with a 15.6" display, take a look at this unit:

Thanks so much! Do you think it makes a difference to have a 17inch screen or a 15 inch is perfectly enough for client presentations?

since you are getting a laptop for client presentation make sure the display is an IPS screen so that the image is accurate when viewed from an angle. I just bought an MSI GT 72 which I use for photoshop. I calibrated the display and it accurately reproduces 98% of the sRGB color space . Even though it is a gaming laptop it doesn't look particularly futuristic except for multi-colored keyboard LEDs which can be programmed to more sedate colors or even turned off completely.

MSI has a workstation type of laptop now based on the Gaming laptop innards with a more subdued design

I'd look at gaming laptops personally, Just find one with a nice IPS display

as for 15 vs 17, its personal preference, Personally id stick to 17..
