white balance

Anyone else use the daylight setting over the flash one? Just wondering.

For stills I shoot raw so it doesn't matter. I just leave it set for daylight.

For video I do a custom white balance for each location and lighting setup.

I used to back when i photographed school formals.
Everything was done the same way so the photos all looked the same and it made post processing much easier for the staff back at the office.

Nowdays i shoot whichever looks best on the back of the camera, typically bouncing between AWB, Daylight and Tungsten

For non-flash photos I use Daylight: that's the one that records the light as it actually is.

For strobes I use a custom setting taken from a shot of a grey card litten by my strobe(s). And no, I don't create a custom value every shoot: I 'profiled' the strobes when I got them and the value's been on the camera ever since.
