It's only $3k and they are only builing 100 of them. 6.6lb lens :)

This is my dream lens but w/o AF. I was wishing that sigma would produce this lens. I am thinking about it though. I just wish they had some better samples before flying blind on a 3k lens.

you must have rock steady hands or plan to shoot from a tripod.

i am waiting for the 135 OS/IS/VC version!

but post a review! We can live vicariously

...and you haven't put your pre-order in yet because?????
I wouldn't be surprised if they were pretty much spoken for already.

For me the 3kg would be no big Problem, I use often 5kg lenses without tripod. 5kg is much and no longer time handholding possible for me, but 3kg sounds OK.
The price for such a focal length / f-stop ratio is extreme low, but still too much for me.

Seems more like a collectors item to me.
What's wrong with the Canon (f/2.0) that it would justify a Mitakon (no Zeiss!!!) to take its place.
Lets face it, from f/1.4 to 2.0 is not that big of a deal or am I missing something here?

More blur (http://howmuchblur.com …4-on-a-0.9m-wide-subject) (external link), shallower DOF, and a full stop faster.

That's assuming it's usable wide open, of course.

EDIT: On my browser, the link isn't working properly. Just open the page and configure 135/2 against 135/1.4.

Camera, some lenses, too little time, too little talent

I see at least 3 warning signs: the limited run of 100, the $500 deposit, and the explicit statement that they won't offer refunds for pre-orders.

It's not for me, but you should do it. ;-)a

Good point! How is their service with something like this? Will they repair/replace it for years to come?

Thanks for the link. It proves to me that the 135 F2 matches the 200 2.8 like I thought.

However it really shows that 200 F2 is really big difference from 300 2.8 :) I knwo what lens I want

Because this is the same guy who PMs people all the time wanting to buy items. Then says his wife wont let him, or some other excuse. I should post all the screenshots of the many times he's pulled this BS on me.
