The portrait is very nice. You might try swinging one light more to the side and higher and bring the other light more in line with the camera for fill. The lighting that you are using is the classic lighting scheme for copying documents. It's not that great for portraits, in my opinion. If you use PS to clone out one of the two catch lights in each eye, that might make it look more natural.

The exposure on that shot is right on, as is the color balance. The choice of backdrop works well with this subject and the lighting.

The B&W looks like it might be a nude in the shower - yes?
Anyway, very clever and well done.

As usual Robert you are right on both accounts.

Iwas being a bit lazy as I set the studio lights to capture 2 (Dog +1) I was trying to stop the dog putting a shadow on the others face. As demonstrated here.
