So Im looking at this lens for my d5200 when it comes out in the Nikon mount, but I was hoping for some feed back from anyone who has it right now. I fond myself shooting in 35mm a lot. However I dont have the $600 for the Tamron or more for the Nikons. I was wondering how the Yongnuo compares to kit glass, I have the 18-55 Nikkor. Is it a huge improvement or a small one where it would be better to save for the Tamron.

I made a thread for it here in the lens sample section:

For the price it's one of the best bargains out there.

So Im looking at this lens for my d5200 when it comes out in the Nikon mount.

The promotional images I saw of the upcoming Yongnuo 50mm and 35mm showed a clone of the Nikkor 35mm f/1.8. Because it's a 1.8, not f/2, and completely different looking from their Canon 35mm clone (which looks more like Canon's old 50 mkII), I would not make any assumptions about how the Nikon lens will perform based on their clone of the Canon. They could be different optical designs based on their respective name-brand counterparts.
