Do you have a shot that you would consider to be your very best or a series of shots that you would consider better than any or all of the shots that you have taken over the years. If so feel free to post it. I have a bunch of shots and was trying to consider what has been the best of them didn't realize just how hard choosing a few shots would be.

Post what you consider one of your best or the series of best....

Actually, I don't. In fact, I think that several dozen images are all tied for "the best". Maybe even a few hundred are all tied for "best".

However, I certainly do have a favorite image ..... but there is a huge, huge difference between a "favorite" image and a "best" image.

__________ __________ __________ __________ __________ __________

This is an interesting topic for a thread, but there is one problem with it. Many of us here shoot professionally and license images to publications, advertising agencies, etc. If we would post some of our very best work, then we are (to varying degrees) devaluing that work by posting it on a public forum. Some publishers simply won't purchase and publish an image that has been paraded about on the internet. Some even insist on "first rights", meaning that we sign a contract with them declaring that any images we submit to them have never been published elsewhere.

So, while I like the idea of this thread, I think that some of the very best photographers on here won't be able to post their very best images. Bummer.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Some of my very best shots are NSFW and wouldn't be appropriate for a thread in the General section :)

On a slightly more serious note: It's extremely hard to pick a single best. Some of my personal favorites are technically flawed. Some of my clients' favorites are boring to me.

I've already posted this one in another thread, but here's a recent favorite. Camera settings are terrible, it's my worst lens, technically it's quite a mess. But, I like it because I was lead photographer and director for the Fallout group shoot at Dragoncon this year. Here's approximately 150 people dressed up as characters from the Fallout video game series; my biggest group shot to date.

Not pictured: Another 75-100 photographers, onlookers, friends and bystanders directly behind, left, and right of me.

I don't know if this is my best, but it is definitely one of my favorite portrait style shots.

This is one of my best scenery shots, as I am not much of a landscape shooter.

It's hard to pick just one. This is tied with a few in other genres.

huge difference between a "favorite" image and a "best" image.

Is this not like asking a parent "which is your favorite child"?

If I had to choose one that's not my kids, this may be it. Bee drenched by underground sprinklers at the Patrick Burns Memorial Rock Garden in Calgary, AB.
