Ha ha, sure. Can you make it to Orlando by 7pm Friday? This month's theme is "Grindhouse" so I'm dragging out the fog machine and gels for some ultra-campy pseudo-horror looks.
When walking around with no particular object in mind, I've often been successful when I move in closer and eliminate as much clutter as possible in a photo. It doesn't really show up on the camera, but when I get home and download the photo, I've been very pleasantly surprised by some of the results that show up on my computer. Not talking about macro shots, just eliminating clutter and excessive background.
I think the flip side of this is equally true, or more true: When composing your shot, don't get so fixated on the subject that you don't pay attention to the background. You might get a beautiful shot of a model, but if you missed that the background is overwhelmed by a bright orange dumpster and a bunch of refuse, the shot is likely a failure.
