POTN G-series Speed Challenge #558 - People On Holiday
_______________

The main focus of your entry should be on PEOPLE, NOT THE SCENERY. People enjoying themselves away from home - or maybe even looking miserable. Nothing in your archives, or you've never been on holiday? Then maybe tourists come to your area - go out and get the shot! Hoping to see lots of entries!
---------------
RESULTS!

Really thought there would be lots more entries for this but I was wrong (as usual) so thanks to those who did enter. A few comments:

Maureen Souza - "Visit our Giant Redwoods". If the challenge had been "Classic Tourist Shot" you would have won hands down.;-)a

Raven - "Little Boy Meets Big Ocean". The centre composition works well for this one, and the title says it all - I like it.

CarloY - "Accent to an Early Summer". The red dresses and hats give a "summery" look to this street scene but I don't know what else to say about it - sorry!

Trumper - "We don't DO people holidays...". Neither do I, so this scene makes me envious. You've caught the moment perfectly with the ball in mid-air but I have to say I think that cropping 1/4 off the right and a bit off the top would greatly improve the composition.

So, the winners are...

#1 Raven
#2 Trumper
#3 Maureen

All yours, Raven, and I hope your new challenge brings more entries.

Congrats Raven, Trumper, & Maureen.
Thanks Teekay for hosting. Yeah, I expected more entries too.

My photo was mostly just a shapshot, and I cropped it at that. I thought it was interesting in that the family sort-of stood out.

Congrats Trumper and Maureen. And, thanks, teekay, for the first place and for hosting a fun contest.
I, too, thought there would be more entries.

I'll be back later this evening with a theme that I hope will entice more people to enter :-)

Congrats to Jim & Trumper & thanks for the hosting duties, Teekay. Our real claim to fame are of course the Giant Sequoias as we only live 35 miles from Giant Forest/Sequoia Nat' Park. I almost posted a picture of the line of people who wait patiently to have their picture taken in front of both the General Grant or General Sherman trees; the 2 largest living things on the planet. They are quite impressive. :)

And that just might resulted in you being stuck with the next challenge, Maureen ;-)a
