Alright guys, i need a little help. I've owned two manfrotto backpacks. One was the Professional Backpack 30 and my current one is Bumblebee-220PL. My first backpack was a little smaller and wished it had more pockets, so i bought a bumblebee. Ive had the bumblebee for a little while but never really take it out because i hate the shoulder straps. I don't think it has enough padding on it. Would you guys be able to recommend maybe a different brand of backpack that can fit my gear?

6D, 24-70mm, 70-200mm, extender, 600ex-rt, transmitter, battery grip, tripod head, laptop.

I would prefer a backpack with a lot of shoulder padding cause my gear is starting to weigh a lot more. I also don't know a lot of backpack brands, so please feel free to recommend what you know.

Thanks!
JB

There are two major differentiators in camera backpacks, those for generally carrying gear and others for backcountry/extreme sports. For the latter Clik Elite and F-stop (I've never owned one, but hear they're great if they fit your body) are the most frequently recommended. I own Clik Elite Contrejour which I've taken climbing, mountain biking, downhill skiing and I love everything about it. For general gear you have several options. I've always been fond of Tamrac Expedition packs (discontinued but still available, Tamrac Adventure is also good) for their comfort under full weight, and Gura Gear Bataflae 26L, my current preferred pack. I carried almost the same gear you list (+ a Sigma 15mm fisheye, spare batteries & misc cleaning supplies + a water bottle) recently at a 4 day festival and was not fatigued - I'm in good shape and over 50. Others I've owned and recommend - Lowepro makes several excellent and well-padded packs, as does Think Tank, and Gura Gear has others you might want to consider.

Yeah, tough choice. I'd start with a budget then narrow down your choices at B&H, then come back with questions. Good luck!

I've owned two different Tamrac Expedition packs and they both had more than enough padding on the shoulders and for the gear inside the backpack. I was using them a lot when traveling but I don't use them anymore. I have both available in the For Sale thread if you are interested.
