It's too bright so as to be off-putting. Plus, the brightness isn't consistent across the frame, and the vignetting is uneven too–with one corner darker than the others.

I'm not sure the colour cast helps it either, even though violet is the complementary of yellow. There's also quite a bit of dust on the eggs and counter that I'm not sure it's sensor dust or surface dust.

The concept might work, but it needs refinement.

Thanks for the input and suggestions on how to improve the shots.
The dust you mention is salt that i used to stop the eggs rolling about.
As for the other comments i will have another look and see what i can do to alter things.

Having another try, this time i have altered the lighting and a few other things.

I think this is starting to look better, but would appreciate feedback from other members.

Symmetry was better in the first shot. If you have issue with the eggs rolling around get the plasticine stuff you can use to hang pictures on the wall from an office supply store.

Thanks for the input, i did think about glueing them in place to stop them rolling about.

There's more to photographing eggs than i ever thought, they will be past their sell-by-date by the time i get the shot right :-)

^^This many times over.

Where would I be without 'tacky tack', as I call it?

++1 to the symmetry comment: the reason I suggested the overhead angle was that in your first shots the construct looked like a daisy to me: but in order to look like that the eggs need to be perfectly radiating from the centre egg, like petals.
