That watching sports on TV will bore you to death. I agree.

No clue. Not a football fan. In fact, I have on ideas how the game is played... Hahahaha...This is very contextual apparently. Besides that, the shot has no mood. The lighting is somewhat neutral looking. I think you are too close to the skeleton. the OOF skull is somewhat distracting. See if you can place the chair and your buddy off to the right side of the TV in a way that it would appear he is watching the TV.

Wow. I agree with you about not giving two turtle turds about sports, but this photo is a story all by itself. Technically, it is excellent. Main subject, ball game, is 2/3 width of frame, properly lit and properly focused. Secondary subject is OOF, but identifiable, and 1/4 the size of the main subject. That is a combination lots of us aim for. I understand that watching sports on TV has taken this poor individuals life. The question is: HOODUNIT? Did he actually die of TV-induced boredom? Did he just get depressed and off himself 'cuz the 'Dogs are gittin' mugwhumped, or did his wife put that bullet hole in his head after one too many Saturday afternoons by herself?

No mood? This photo is a good mystery, waiting to be unraveled. Looks like we'll need a coroner, though.

What I have in mind is a V shape. Both his buddy and the TV should be at 45 degree..like this / \. Here, both the TV and the skeleton would be plain focus. Now, you need to tweak the lighting to enhance the skeleton.

Ok ok...I think I am overthinking the shot here since I don't like football at all....hehehehe..:) You think watching a football game is boring, try a baseball game on TV..LOL..... The game is already boring as it is and now you have to watch indoor on TV....

It isn't the football, my good friend. Its the TV. Doesn't much matter what it is tuned to, the medium itself is the problem. It is inherently passive and quite boring. In its current form, its only purpose is to deliver eyeballs to the advertisers.

Imagine have a neighbor who comes over to your house for 5 or 6 hours every day. He talks incessantly about whatever he wants for the entire time. You don't get to respond or interact in any way. Just listen. If you get really tired of his inane chatter, your only option is to ask him to leave, and invite in another neighbor who prattles on in the same manner about something else. All you can do is sit and listen.

If people behaved like that, the violent crime rate would surely rise. Put it in an electronic box and most folks will pay good money for it and swear up and down that it is entertainment.

You are seriously over thinking it. The hats are a direct tie in to the "fan's" passion for the Georgia team.

I don't understand your point. I took that as obvious.

Duh! Huh? Of course they are. Dead guy is a "G" fan. Which is what makes this photo interesting and funny. Why is he dead? Bored? Suicide? Murder? The photo certainly tells a story. I have filled in the blanks one way. I'm sure there are others.

Maybe being neither a fan of sports, nor of TV in general, is limiting my range here. Feel free to help me out. But I find someone dying while watching TV to be a near perfect metaphor.

Great replies Guys, I wasn't even sure the picture told a story that is why I asked for opinions.
Now for what I was after and if they got the message without saying a word, my two brothers, one has a wife and a son and he is married. my second brother has a wife and two daughters which are married and they are all Georgia sports fans, Bull Dawgs more so. I don't like anything related to Georgia sports and I like to see it I can get a reaction from them. This time it started with the Alabama Georgia game, I posted where they would all see it and told them that Alabama was going to beat the Dawgs badly, my niece responded jokingly saying You know we are all Georgia fans. you keep on and you will be blocked. The response I was looking for. Then I told her that Tennessee was going to make the Dawgs their lap dogs, got another response I was looking for, just after Tennessee did that I was in Big Lots and saw my new friend hanging up on display at twenty five % off I brought him/her home with me thinking this is going to be fun.
Now I have something for the Dawgs when they play the Gators, I text her with a picture of my friend sitting in a chair with the caption saying Waiting on a win with a Georgia logo, I was so excited with my new friend that really no thought was given to photography, just had to send her the photo. (will post it later)
When the Gators won I came up real fast with the posted picture and posted it where they could see it shortly after the game. I guess they blocked me because I haven't gotten a response from them yet.
In this picture I was filling the frame to do away with clutter, If I had set it up more to the right there would have been two door ways in the picture, if I had set up the left of the TV then I couldn't get the shot form the door way, the picture I tried it in AV Mode but the skeleton was yellowish so I put a flash on the floor to get it white, wished I had of shot at f8, for the hat and the logo I PS-ed them in.
The point is, the remaining hope of a Georgia win that was it my friends bones left him when the Gators won.
I think I have found the type of photography that I want to do, I see cartoonist that can draw a picture with one or two words that leave the viewer lol Clay Bennett is one of them, I wish I had his imagination.

Thanks to all of you for your replies and kind words.
Don

You are trying to read a grand statement on the TV wasteland when its a more direct point. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

I get it. Your family enjoys watching combat on the playing field. You enjoy starting combat within your family. Just something to think about.

I guess that's another way of looking at it. But it's all in fun. :-)
They give as good as they get and if The Dawgs wins its going to be 10 on 1
