I shot these at 1/40 to 1/60 sec, f5.6. I wonder if they would have come as well with the 100-400. I think the 400 5.6 does better wide open then the 100-400. By the way I got over 100 chigger bites walking through pasture to get to the woods, I'm still itching. GearList
