Hi all.

I've been getting into Fuji of late and have decided to get a second body/camera.

I bought an XT-1 and 56 1.2 recently and would like an approx 35mm FF equivalent to go with it for travel.

I know I could just buy the 27 or 24 1.4, which I plan to one day, but I like having two cameras when I travel.

I quite like the 100T, it has some neat features the XT-1 does not. Its also smaller and more stream lined for those one camera days and the fixed lens prevents you from bringing a heavy bag full of lenses :)

On the other hand, I like the XT-1 and having two bodies the same means the controls and functions are identical when switching. Its also more flexible not being a fixed lens.

Not using the same batteries is annoying.

I'm probably leaning towards the XT-1 and 27 f2.8 at the moment but would really like to hear from those who have both or the 100T as I've only had limited time with it

How is the performance of the X100T vs XT-1?
How good is the fixed lens VS the 27 2.8?

Cheers

The XF23 is huge. All the comparison photos between an X-T1 with it mounted (especially with hood) and an X100/S/T look like someone is pulling a joke. There is no comparison. The difference is astounding and no matter how good you think the XF23 is, it doesn't justify the size if you care about this in any way at all. The only reasons to buy that over an X100T are:

- It's cheaper if you have a body already, you can exchange the body for a newer one without exchanging the lens, so long term it's cheaper as well
- You don't need to adjust your brain between two different bodies

If I was working with the cameras, I'd get a second X-T1 body so I have one single "hardware" to learn and not have to rewire my brain between the two. The problem is, that Fuji is so frigging inconsistent with their body design and even software capabilities between even current line bodies. Drives me nuts.

On the other hand, a Billingham Hadley Small, filled with an X100T, TCL-X100, EF-X20 mini flash, Canon TTL sync cord, LG PD239 printer, an iPad Air II and a mini tripod is an amazingly fun vacation/weekend kit.

I don't like mixing the two cameras together, so I generally carry the above or:

X-T1 with 14, 35, 56 (or other lens combinations, like 18+35, 23+56, 35+90, 14+35), the same LG printer, a Nissin i40 flash and a compact (not mini, but still table top) tripod, filter set, MacBook 12" and some assorted small stuff in a backpack or Billingham Hadley Pro. I never carry more than three lenses. I rarely ever carry more than one body. I might if I expected to use 23 + any other focal length all the time, but that's rare for me.

Overall, I like the X-T1 better, but it is a bigger package, no matter what I do. Even just the X-T1 with XF27 is already bigger and heavier than the X100T.

Decide what your real priority is, and you'll have the answer. If you will REALLY carry and use two X-T1 bodies, then that's what you should get. If compact, light and convenient is the priority, then the X100T it is. If you do go with the T, I don't think you will be disappointed by image quality. I don't own the 27 2.8, but the T holds up well against the 23 1.4. No, it's not quite as good, but not so much of a difference that you would regret shooting with it over the X-T1. Like cug, I generally don't carry or travel with both. The T is to throw in my backpack or small case and have with me all the time. Lot's of images I've caught with that thing that I wouldn't have otherwise.

But, this is easy for me to say, cause I've got an X-E1 body laying around for whenever I want to carry two interchangeable lens bodies. ;-)a

I have both of them and I can say that for me (tall male) the slightly larger size of the XT1 is a glad trade off for the ergonomics. Trying to hold the x100t is slippery at best. I think the XT1 is the perfect size to weight to ergonomics ratio I have ever seen.
