PW's seem WAY more reliable after update. Did I just get lucky?

Hello everyone. I own a TT1 and 3x TT5's. Ever since my son was born, I've kind of vanished on the forums and haven't used my camera nearly as much, sadly. When I bought my 7D II last year, I was really disappointed to know that the PW's didn't work with my new body. I put them away and didn't even pull them out until last night. I updated them and they worked flawlessly, right away, to my surprise. Now, in the past, I used to have a HELL of a time getting them to work with my 7D. I should also mention that I use them with 2x AB1600's and 1x WL X3200. Each TT5 has a AC9 and my TT1 has the AC3 on top. In the past, it was always superrrrr finacky to get them to work what-so-ever unless I powered on my lights, then PW's then added the AC3 last. I usually had to go around and turn all my lights and PW's off 3 or 4 times until I got the sequence JUST right. Last night, to my surprise, I updated the PW's, connected everything, turned on my lights, then the PW's and (I think) camera last and boom! They all worked, including modelling lights with power tracking. I was amazed!!!!

My question is, did I just get lucky? Has anyone else found that PW made them much less buggy/finacky since the update back in February? I really hope so because I have a shoot with a body builder at his gym in a week and am super skeptical that they may let me down right when I need them :(. Considering picking up some YN-622's again.

Keep testing then to be sure they work. Still a good idea to have backup triggers as well. I have some older YN602's that I use for back up. If you were out my way (Cloverdale) you could borrow them as backup!

I'm actually heading out there on Thursday if you mean that. I'd really appreciate it!

I advise to read always the release notes that come with a firmware update from PocketWizard. It is a lot of work for PW to crack each new camera.

Oh my gawwwwwwwd - IT'S ALIVE!!!!! So happy! So... I just busted out the lights again and they work, flawlessly. I can't believe it. I'm beginning to wonder how much the issue had to do with the 7D, itself. The 7D II is working beautifully. I just can't get over it. I'm super stoked for tomorrow's shoot!
