My sons T3i has some issues with recording HD. We are using 64GB Elite Performance SDXC Class 10 UHS-3 - 90MB/s cards. I had no problems with the cards in a T2i, and my previous 6D.

Any ideas?

Is this a random thing? Recording in HD creates a huge file quickly. You might be hitting the max file size of 4 gigs.

Pretty quick, like under a minute! I tried the black magic benchmark test utility... it didn't seem to work well reading out of the sd slot in my MBP. I'm really thinking it may be the card.
He tried using 720p and it was working.

There is an excellent discussion of cards and the T3i at http://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3140278 (external link).

Question I have is what was the retail source of the card being used, i. e., where was it purchased? There are many counterfeit cards in the marketplace.

Thank you John, I actually found that one last night!
