I'm thinking of swapping out my older version of the sigma 24-70mm D lens for the newer nikon 35mm 1.8g FX. How does the 35mm 1.8 FX lens perform? Or is it more worth it to spend the money on the 35 1.4?

I primarily shoot weddings and events

thank you

I wouldn't be without a 24-70 for weddings, that's the bread and butter lens.

A lower cost option (vs the Art) might be the old 28-70/2.8. It still has a very good reputation.

Either of those newer primes is going to be much, much sharper than the mediocre at best zoom you have now.
