Yes, but my method also encourages the OP that people are interested in seeing more. :p

You bring up a good point.
Pekka!
What if we showed the number of members that are following a thread?!
Maybe the OP gets a notification when someone follows his/her thread?
Plus, seeing the number of followers at the top could be cool.

Oh gotcha I dont know why my brain went to he was correcting me saying diffusor for diffusion like diffus"in". But that would have been a "ion" comment not "in". I was filling up on gas and took a quick glance on my
phone so Ill blame it on quick look and my imagination.

Right you are they break easy! Ya'know I didnt really think of any diffusor alot I have seen are just bulbs.

OK, I just did a Google search for DIY ring light, and I see what you mean. There are people who have just put 8 to 12 bare bulbs in a circle and called it a "ring light", but "ring of lights" would be more accurate. I'm not aware of any commercially available ring light like this, and I have to say that I don't personally care for the end result of seeing many points of light in the subject's eyes, especially in the examples I'm seeing where the lights are unevenly spaced radially, or are bare spiral CFLs (this looks plain awful to me to see a model's eyes full of spiral lightbulb images, because they will be in focus and clearly identifiable in closeups).

Before seeing these other DIY designs, I was assuming that you would be putting walls around the ring (one inside the ring, one around the outside), silver on the inside with a translucent white front, kind of like a large version of a RoundFlash softbox, so that the catchlights are true circular rings. That is normally what is meant by ring light; an unbroken ring.

What wattage bulb are you using? If led bulbs are used do you still get the 60 cycle flicker?

Not those specifically, but rather this example that came up when I googled:

http://petapixel.com …mpact-fluorescent-lights/ (external link)

What I see in that example is the potential for a really useful light with about another $15 worth of additions. But as is, the light is not focused forward enough to be used at a distance (where the weird catchlights would be less obvious), nor does it have enough bulbs close enough together to really work as a closeup ring light without some sort of diffusor on the front. If the point is to use it from far away, the omni bulbs could be replaced with floods. If it's meant to be used for closeups, then the whole point is to get appealing ring-shaped catchlights.

A better choice for wire from the last fixture to the plug would be stranded wire. Solid conductors are more prone to breaking than stranded conductors.

You already know this though, but I'll put it out there for others who may want to re-create your project.
