Hi Guys,

I am looking for some advice on shooting mtb photos in bright daylight.
I would like to use speedlights, can someone please help me, here are my thoughts.
I have a 60d and a 550ex and a 439 exii and triggers that can fire at 1/250 .

Do I need a high speed sync setup or can one shoot at 1/250 with a nd filter.?
After some trial and error I have seen that one need a very short focal lenth lens when using the flash on the hotshoe,

It very diffucult for me to overpower the sun using my current flashes,
Is there anyone that can help me just explaining how to approach the problem,

Do I need to change the light to be more directional?
I assume I can leve the light modifiers at home?

Sport photography, as in moving subjects ect,

Thank you,

to do it right, you go with High Speed Sync. so you will need a trigger that can do that.

Sure you can try to use a ND, but you are just making it harder for your camera to focus fast.

When I do it, I shoot in manual, with exposure set to -2/3 stop, and the flash set to full 0, the the subject pops just a bit from the background..

Not to sound negative, but to do this right you need a strobe, Profoto B1 is good but something that can use Hypersyce is really the way to go.
