Canon speedlights with Bowens Gemini 750w Pro sync.

Hi guys,

I'm having a photoshoot next week and for the purpose I booked a studio. The thing is that in the studio they have only 4 Bowens Gemini strobes, and sometimes, actually most of the time, I tend to get a bit5 wild when comes to lighting.
Basically I wanted to ask if anyone have tried to trigger Bowens Gemini optical slaves with Canon speedlight fired by on camera pocketwizard transmitter .....
something like on the video below but with 4 Bowens strobes and perhaps 2 Canon speedlights.

If your speedlight is in manual (no ettl preflash) it will trigger the "magic eye" optical slave (assuming the units have the optical slave function, most studio units do, and every bowens i have used has had)

It might be worth a call to the rental studio to ask if they allow renters to disable their trigger system in order to use the optical slaves.

It worked as charm, I'm also quite impressed by the Bowens as they are very affordable lights. I used the 4 Bowens heads with 2 and 3 Canon speedlights without any problem.
