Thank you for educating a city boy!

The levelers extend wheels to keep internal working parts of combine on level surface. Grain loss can result from being tipped too far.

This combine has a large hopper behind the cab, when close to full he will signal the bankout tractor or truck to drive along side and empty the hopper. With some really steep terrain the combine might have to drive to the truck.

I ran older ones in the late 80s. We harvested some very steep ground. Another combine operator had his hydraulic pump fail and he free wheeled for a quarter mile to the bottom of a ravine. Pretty scary stuff at times.
