Now that all the newer bodies have internal dust shakers, how often if at all are you guys cleaning the sensors? Are the newer shakers better than the ones from a couple years ago? Just curious.

I've had a 5D III for almost 3 years; just recently had to clean sensor. Pretty easy to do it yourself. Had a smudge......from something.

Bought my 1DX in November 2013 - had it's first clean 2 weeks ago.
The inbuilt sensor cleaning, with occasional assistance from a Giottos Rocket blower, does the job nearly all the time.

On my 60D, I've never had the need, and I acquired it about the same time as you got yours. In addition, we have a large camera store in our area that sponsors a once a year clinic where camera techs will clean the sensor for free, and the twice I've gone they haven't seen a need. They do go over the camera otherwise, cleaning viewfinder, lens, etc., probably spending about 10 to 15 minutes on it.

I have a vague recollection that I cleaned my 40D once. I used to clean my 20D every few months. However, once I got the 40D I wasn't swapping lenses as much. So I hadn't cleaned the 20D much after I got the 40D.

I haven't yet had to clean the sensor (or even take a Rocket Blower to them) in either of my current cameras in the 3 or 4 years I've had them.

When I had a body with a non self cleaning sensor dust bunnies were pretty common.

My 70D has a few spots that don't show up unless narrow aperture. Shot an airshow a few months back and the F20 aperture shots show dust at 100% in LR 5. I spot removed them. Not had a sensor clean yet as not really needed to.

It's been awhile since I checked the shutter count but it was around 12,000 in early summer. However, my grand-niece, coming up on 2 years old has probably caused the count to go up exponentially.

Not a lot - 40/50K at most.
I did have a couple of small blobs on the sensor but they generally went away with normal in built sensor cleaning or disappeared after using the blower. However I did have a biggie that just wouldn't shift so a quick damp clean (Digipad and Eclipse fluid) and all is well.
