On November 7th, 2015 the "Mighty Marysville" Power plant, of Marysville, Michigan, was imploded. She operated from 1922 to 2001, was decommissioned in 2011, and sold in 2013. A large exclusion zone was necessary for the destruction, and the best viewing vantage point was from the Canadian side of the St. Clair river. Thousands of Canadians and Americans lined the riverbank to view the demise of the historic landmark. The implosion and collapse lasted a mere 20 seconds, but created a significant dust cloud that headed straight for Canada.

Good sequence! Interesting to see the dust coming out of one smokestack, too. Is that a parachute in #s 2 & 3?

That's a para glider type thing. One with a big fan on the back. I would love to see any photos/video he got.
A news channel got some video from up high as well, maybe a drone or something.

Really great shots! Looks like the smoke/dirt extends over the water in the last photo.

When you see my camera gear you'll think I'm a pro.
When you see my photos you'll know that I'm not.

The dust cloud came right across the river to Canada.

I thought ahead and brought my respirator and particulate filters. I didn't see anyone else with any type of breathing mask.
