On November 7th, 2015 the "Mighty Marysville" Power plant, of Marysville, Michigan, was imploded. She operated from 1922 to 2001, was decommissioned in 2011, and sold in 2013. A large exclusion zone was necessary for the destruction, and the best viewing vantage point was from the Canadian side of the St. Clair river. Thousands of Canadians and Americans lined the riverbank to view the demise of the historic landmark. The implosion and collapse lasted a mere 20 seconds, but created a significant dust cloud that headed straight for Canada.
