No, you don't 'need' a speedlight. On the other hand, some lighting equipment will certainly enable you to expand your horizons.

IF you decide to go ahead with purchasing a speedlight I'd suggest looking up 'strobist lighting 101' for a good tutorial on lighting.

If you want to use flash as a bit of a fill when your subjects are back lit it helps but has it's limitations. You can get a cheap Yongnuo with ETTL and learn about flash.

i'd start using the on-board flash and see what you think. Seems like all the pics you share are outside, so a dedicated flash is just going to give you more power, it's not going to be a big difference for fill light.

give it a shot and see what you think.

OTOH, if you want to buy triggers, a stand and a softbox, well a dedicated flash is what you want.
