I always dig clicking on a Bcaps thread! Another stunner! Very unfortunate to hear of the condition of the area. Is it not regulated?
The locals try to "regulate" it by regularly tearing down the sign on the side of the road that identities where the viewing platform is as it is not obvious from the road, but it's become a well known site so that doesn't do much to decrease traffic anymore.

Beautiful shot. I agree about the conditions. It was pretty muddy and chewed up when I visited last fall.
I like your signature on 500px, "Trying to capture the beauty of nature, before mankind destroys it all."

I always feel good when I see a photographer care enough about the environment to not get the shots they would otherwise get. Too many times I see people trampling through delicate areas for their shots. This also applies to many professional landscape photographers who feel they have a special pass to stomp where they want or to even break the law. It's not much different from the guys who poach wildlife for sport in our area.
This is a great photo, though. Classic Panther scenery. Great job, Dave.
I see that far too often as well, particularly when I come across photo workshops with a group leader who just doesn't give a #$%!. When there are a group of people it is like a mob mentality. The group does things they wouldn't do if they were by themselves, both in terms of damaging the environment as well as acting rude and obnoxious.
