I live in New Brunswick, Canada. I've been searching for web sites that tell you where to look for the milky way in the sky, I can't find anythin for my region. Can anyone tell me where to look in the sky to find this.

You can't see the bright galactic center of the MW from November through February in the Northern Hemisphere.

Get yourself a planisphere, a handy little device for approximating not only the Milky Way, but other space objects as well.

A planisphere is a star chart analog computing instrument in the form of two adjustable disks that rotate on a common pivot. It can be adjusted to display the visible stars for any time and date. It is an instrument to assist in learning how to recognize stars and constellations.

Any time you felt a need for a software, you should check this excellent thread:

LINK

That I am not sure why it is not made into "Sticky Thread" as most deserved!

Anyhow, two other short answer to your question:
1) If you are to picture the Milky way, you should be able to see it with naked eyes and if not, there is a bad news.
2) Your possible best free source is Stellarium (external link) , That is available for Win/Mac/Linux and will give you a picture correct configuration of the milky way that is zoomable to full detail, apart from the very user friendly interface for entire sky map.

Enjoy.

Check the Star Chart App. Just put it on your smartphone, hold it up to the sky it will use your gps to show you every thing you want.
