Is it cheating to be sitting on the couch in your living room when taking the photo?

Absolutely. The correct protocol is to move your couch outside and wait there for subjects to stroll by. Better have waterproof slipcovers, though.

Love the stillness and action all in one. Great capture.

One shot a while back. Dunno who was more surprised, the deer or myself. Fairly close by along a trail, it just stood still for a staring match.

A mother moose and her two calves crossed the trail where my wife and I were walking this week in Nova Scotia, Cabot Trail

Just if you take the picture while she is licking peanut butter from your fingers. :)

That's a neat pic! . He looks like a very large, fully mature buck. . Was that pic taken in late May or early June? . I bet he's sporting a great big rack by now!

............... ............... ............... ............... ...............

Here's a pic of my buddy getting in position for some nice head-on images.

Notice that the buck in the foreground is all "bristled up", which shows that he is the dominant buck, and that the other buck is walking away in deference to his superiority. . Of course, that means that the smaller buck is presenting a great opportunity to my friend, while the larger buck will be somewhat obstructed, and hence more difficult to shoot. . It always seems to go that way! . Murphy's Law at work.

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

That's earlier than I had expected ..... which means that he got off to a VERY good start! . He will be a big huge stud for sure. . I hope you get to photograph him again this fall.

I wish, but I doubt it. I'm lucky enough to get to visit customers and if all goes well, I have a chance to take pictures.
I'm not joking, the problem with this customer was they didn't refill the carrier solvent for their mass spectrometer.
It took them more time to fill the bottle than it took for me to see the problem. But it left me plenty of time to look around and shoot pictures.
