You're lucky to see them and you got a good photo.

Thanks! they were way easier to find then I was expecting. They are pretty used to people so getting close wasnt really an issue either.

This fawn could care less how close I was with my A7IV and 100-400 GM lens.

Found this pic from last autumn's rut, thought I'd share it here. . We call this buck the "Moose Buck" because of the unusual palmation on his left antler. . Funny how his left antler is so heavily palmated, and his right antler is so spindly. . Had a few nice encounters with him as he postured with rival bucks and chased off after does, forever hoping that he would find one that was in heat.

That is a interesting palmated rack, for sure. We had some palmation in quite a few of the bucks on our ranch a few years back but the trait seems to have faded with time. I have not seen much palmation in the last couple of years.

Tom. I harvested a buck in 2019 that was heavy palmated on the left side, reminds me of this buck you were after. He was on a farm belonging to my cousin and as Duckster also mentioned in his reply, this is a trait we've seen before only in his immediate area. Many bucks there have points that are blade shaped as well. The deer I took has both making it very unique.
