DIY Ice Light Progression

Starting a new project.

Ive decided to go with these led strips that are 12v and AA batteries.

8x1.5v=12v

Im thinking the amps might be low ei it wont stay on very long but an icelight dosnt really need to be on that long.

I wired up the batteries to 4 led strips in series for a little test.

The problem I've seen with inexpensive LED solutions is that their color temperature and accuracy are all over the map. So if you try to mix LED's from different manufacturers you wind up with massive white balance and tint problems.

These four strips are from the same manufacturer so hopfully it wont be too bad haha

I was thinking if I attach all the electronics to something that will slide into the pipe it would save me having to fish a lot of wires around.

Its dim compared to the brightly lit room in that last shot. In that pic I wasnt trying to highlight the strength of the light tho it is on the weak side. Im adding two more led strips regaurdless.

If you're wanting to stay 12V, the 5630 LEDs put out a lot more light than the 5050s. I've only used the 5630's in module form, but here's some on Amazon in strip form - http://www.amazon.com …-brightness/dp/B01339G2​F6.

I attached some wax paper over the light to act as diffusion. Not im worried about the strength of the light... Haha

I got some brighter leds. Im going to do a lighting test when I string them together. I may go those 5630 leds if they are too much of a pain
