I wish I had zoomed some to avoid this amount of cropping.

Quite amazing
Looks like jewellery, rings with stones, in some of them.
No idea what they are. Soap bubbles?
Brilliantly done.
Love the colours.

Thank you! They are glass orbs hanging under the skylight in the lobby of the Westin Hapuna Beach resort. I cropped out the edge of the skylight, threw the white balance extremely off, and played with the sliders until almost everything was gone except the edges. Then the last remnants of the hanging wires were hit with a -5EC adjustment brush. There's a blue version in the "Reflections" thread that shows much closer to the reality:

https://photography-on-the.net …hp?p=18828287&i=i20840949

The blue is natural; it was shot deep into the evening. I got started in photography with a friend ("friend") who was a strident believer that not only did photography have to reflect reality, but also that any tweaks beyond the most basic after capture were cheating. It's liberating to be getting away from that notion and really seeing what I can create.

Kind of a happy accident. I was trying a color version of a photo that I initially made black and white. While messing around with curves, one of my points went haywire, and this was the result. I kind of dig it, so it became a keeper.
