Nov 16, 2015 22:10 | #6 Nice photos, but cutworms are not such guests for the plants. This one looks like Noctua Pronuba: http://ukmoths.org.uk …ronuba/larva-yellow-form/

The rest seem to keep themselves to manageable numbers. Brian v. Me too but I am a soft touch with slugs and snails, I can't bear to kill them (leave them to the frogs). My biggest problem are rose sawflies, especially this year, they trashed a couple of my roses more than once. They did it to one at the beginning of the season, it recovered with new leaves, then the little ******* trashed it again lol. Might have to exterminate them next year. http://lindabuckell.zenfolio.com/

Linda I did make war on berberis sawflies this year by catching the adults and drowning them- did seem to work. http://www.flickr.com/photos/lordv/

Brian v. Ah thanks for the tip - I have one other real pest that I won't be able to exterminate that way as there are too many of them and neighbours have the same shrub/tree, I can't for the life of me remember the name of the plant at the moment but it makes the shrub stink like fox poo, larvae make a mess of the leaves and the beetle is numerous. Might remove mine, I can't decide lol. On the other hand, the birds 'might' feed on the larvae so undecided at the mo. http://lindabuckell.zenfolio.com/
