Does anyone have experience of this?

I have a surface Win 10 tablet and would like to use the EOS utility on it to view and control an EOS 5 MKII.
For some reason (No really!) the software won't run. It installs ok but then insists on running .net 2.0 and 3.5

As part of that, it says download .net 3.5, but then errors. I've tried changing Group policy to suggested (from Microsoft) settings, that does not work.
I have tried using the DISM etc etc command to install but that does not work.

I am probably mad wanting to do this but the desktop runs the EOS utility fine, but I obviously cannot cart a desktop around with me, laptop maybe, but I'd hoped the Surface might work too!

Any geeks out there suggest anything else I can try?
Thanks.

What model of the surface tablet? Is it a Surface Pro?

Review the thread at http://community.usa.canon.com …th-Windows-10/td-p/147789 (external link) and see if there is anything worthwhile. Note there are 6 pages (numbers in bottom left corner) and some of the last pages may be the best information.

The link at http://support-th.canon-asia.com …nts/TH/EN/0200457802.html (external link) for EOS Utility makes the comment "Can also be used with Windows 10 (desktop mode only)." Probably not good information considering your use of a Surface tablet.

Sorry at the time of posting I did not have the surface. It's a Pro version. About a year old.

I tried adding the EOS 2 utility and it appears to start up. (It does not give me the windows error that it did) Unfortunately, being at work, I can't plug the camera in as it is not with me.

At least I get further than I did. Thanks for the posts so far.

Will update post later with positive - or otherwise results.

Cheers Rob.

I believe the latest version on EOS Utility isn't necessarily compatible with Win 10, but it is with 8.1.

if it gives you problems maybe try running in compatibilty mode for Win 8.1.

is your desktop running Win 10?
