Super moon?

So after many years of the canon 300d I finally upgraded my camera to the 70d. Still learning the camera and Astrophotography. This is a wee experimental shot I tried.

This is a composite of 20 second for water and star field and then a different exposure for moon, right?
The moon appears way too grey/washed-out IMO.
Can you re-edit it to be closer in brightness to the water for a better balance?

When I originally had the moon with a brighter exposure it looked too fake. I tried to dim it slightly, maybe overdone?

Yeah, a bit. Now it looks like the water is reflecting light where there is no source. Still cool, though.

I like the brightness of the moon in this one, the placement in the first one.

I agree with both, the brightness is very good now, but the size looks too large.

Other than that a great composition!

Just another of my 2 cents here; while the moon is obviously not to scale, the size and detail is what makes this an interesting shot, in my opinion. If it was just a little bright spot up in the corner, the image wouldn't be as interesting.

A very nice work.

Must also admit that the major factor in succes of this image and great visual effect is that dim moon (that is beside the well chosen mono-color nature of image).
Do NOT change even a bit and the original image is the only one with that mystry incorported, as needed. Just the right ingredients / mood and just the correct punch, softly!
