looking for a good low light zoom fast lens for my canon 70d. budget up to £400 for a second hand. have a 30mm 1.4 and a tamron 17-50 2.8. might get rid of the tamron depending on what i get. possibly use the new lens for video as well but mostly for kickboxing shots or should i save my money and keep the 17-50?.any help much appreciated.

Assuming you are looking for something that covers the wide/standard/short tele range then other than swapping the Tamron for either the Sigma or Canon f/2.8 versions there's not much I could think of. I don't suppose you would find one of the new(ish) Sigma 18-35 f/1.8's within your budget yet. I would consider saving a bit longer and going for one of those if you can find a S/H one. I think new on amazon they are around £650. It's looking like one of those will be my next lens option, now I have the super tele zoom sorted, with the Sigma 150-600 C.

"fast", "zoom" and "low budget" don't really go together. Other than that Sigma I don't think there are zooms faster than f/2.8 anyway, so you wouldn't be improving on your current Tamron.

If you want fast, look at primes. How close to the action are you for your kickboxing? For most sports you'll want a longer focal length than what you have; the 85 f/1.8 works well on a budget, good quality and fast AF.

sometimes a matter of feet. other times 50feet. depends on the venue. i find i'm starting to use my 30mm more than my 17-50 but, would like a good focal length for shows/events
