Wow, super detail and fascinating seeing these bits of flowers we aren't able to see like this even through a macro lens.

Ironically, this is the type of "abstract" photography that I had in mind on which to build a panel of work but I would try and do it with less complicated machinery ! I love the concentration on very small parts of the subject to make it into a simple but colourful image. I hope your ideas are not copyright (only joking!) but it has made me realise that given the application and right images, it could work for me.

If you were interested Linda, would your equipment not take you some way towards producing this type of image ?

Hi there - possibly, but I don't think the magnification would be as great. I do have an extension tube that I occasionally put on the 100mm macro, but even then, I am sure it won't be as great. Also, I do not photo-stack. To actually do this myself, I think the novelty would soon wear off lol, in any event, I prefer not to get too technical with my macro photography, I enjoy seeing them on here though :-)

I don't think the 100 macro can come close to these pics. 10X magnification is even beyond the mp-e65. If you have tried to shoot 5x on the mp-e65, you may have an idea how challenging 10X is.

Thanks all for the comments and discussion. I suspect it was inevitable that I started doing these type of shots- I am a retired microbiologist :)
