I shoot a fair amount of stacked floral stuff in macro using a 180 macro lens...
any thoughts on using a 5DS were I to upgrade? Big images are my goals.

You can crop images from that sensor down to a 1.6x crop and still have 18MP to send to a printer. For comparison I use to print 10MP images from a 1D MKIII poster size and they had a lot of detail even though I was printing to canvas...

Aah...I don't want to crop...I currently stack and merge to get 50MP images now...want to do away with the merge process.

Then you're going to reduce your field of view unless you shoot at a lower magnification.

Sorry, I didn't understand why you were interested in a 50MP sensor. Why the need for that many pixels?

camera i'd really like to try side by side with my 5D2 and see what gains I get from the increased resolution, no substitute for actually using a camera. Grey import from reliable firm is now down to £1928, still a big investment. For me it would have to be a camera I wanted glued to my MP-E65 as I don't think id have much use else for it.
