I have been asked to film a motivational speaking event. This is a event that will be 2.5 hours long. I am thinking about purchasing a canon vixia G20 as a A cam, canon HR600 B cam and using my 7d mkII for C cam. My problem is how do I patch audio from the house sound system to the camcorder? I would like to run the house sound through a tascam dr-60 then out to camcorder. Next is how do I keep them in sync. Should I use a clap board before event starts? Thanks in advance for your help.

I wouldn't even bother going out from the dr-60. Since you're going to be editing three cameras together, you don't gain anything. Yes, a clap will help you synch, but are all three cameras going to be running non-stop? What I would do, is be sure you're recording on-camera sound on all three cameras, then you can synch the wave forms of the audio against each other -- then when they're all together line up all three against the audio from the dr-60.

PluralEyes will sync audio between cameras automatically. You could record the house sound from the mixer into the D60 as the master and then sync audio in post.

Premiere Pro CC 2014 and up will also do it automatically. But this is the real plan. Get with the AV guy early on to arrange a jack from his board you can use. I'd recommend as a quick deal (if the AV guy isn't used to the idea and doesn't already have a spare port for recording output) bringing a 1/4 TRS Y connector and a long (10 foot) 1/4-1/8 TRS cable so that you can quickly plug into his headphone jack and leave him the second outlet. That won't require any changes to his setup.

Can you point me to a tutorial on audio sync in Premiere?

There are a bunch of them, but start with Curtis Judd's sync tutorials for an easy, well-explained beginning. Judd has fewer presumptions about what you already know in Premiere Pro and is much clearer in his explanations and displays than most others.

Plus one to Curtis Judd -- he's got a lot of great information. In addition, Mark Wallace covers this exactly here: https://www.youtube.com …KdxswwRE&feature=youtu.be (external link)
