My cousin had her baby today and I went to the hospital earlier to visit, when I open the blinds in the room, I noticed a parking garage right next to the window, blocking most of the window light. Plus you can only open the blinds not pull them up because they are inside the window.. Worse room ever for photos. So now I'm stuck with lighting. I have a speed light, and a strobe. I want to just bounce the lights but not make it look flashy. Any tips? Speedlight on camera bouncing or on a stand in the corner?

Yea speedlight in a corner works pretty well.

Around home i typically have a speedlight in opposite corners of the room pointed at the ceiling (not even on stands, just resting on whatever is around - TV, Bookcase etc)

1/16th power gives me a nice clean f4 at 800iso in most rooms (your setup will be different)
Along with nice fast cycle times.

Bounce. Just know that the walls tend to be of color, which will have to get fixed in post.
