St Cirq Lapopie. One of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France and it lives up to it's name. If there is ever a big ground tremour the church will get very wet from about the 300 foot drop in to the River Lot

Looking West fro the top of St Pauls Cathedral c1960.
Scan of one of my Leica negatives.
The church to the left of my viewpoint is St Brides, Fleet Street. (You can identify it by it's wedding cake appearance.)
Wiki-Link for St Brides:-

Thanks Jon.
Never got hit? Read the links!

Interesting to look at the cars in the old photos. Puts a date perspective into the frame.
Then, I could actually drive into London and park within a few yards of where I wanted to go.
Now, I can’t even get into the city without a 15 quid congestion charge, and that’s after I’ve driven through 25 miles of confusing road signs - sometimes at least six on a single post - speed cameras, traffic light cameras, dedicated cycle lanes and bus lanes. And if you do get there safely there’s always some jumped-up little traffic warden waiting to get your car towed away. They take no prisoners, their bonus seems to depend on it:-(
Probably after the current problems it’ll be bikes only -?
However, as I don’t have to work there anymore I just hang a camera around my neck, park my car at the dome in Greenwich and go in by river bus, get some good views from that. I pretend I’m a Tourist. I recommend it.
