As the title states, I'm looking to replace a Crumpler 7MDH. It's been my faithful side kick for about 7 years now but it's feeling a bit tight and unorganized. This is the gear currently stashed in the 7MDH:

Nikon D750
24-70 f/2.8 mounted on Nikon
70-200 f/2.8 VR II
16-35 f/4
Nikon SB-910
Pocket Wizard PII x 2
Sanyo battery charger + 3 sets of rechargeable
2 additional Nikon camera batteries
assorted cables, connectors, business cards, etc...

All the batteries are stashed in one of the divided sections and I have to dig to find them. The front flap holds the assorted cables and it's a mess. The top compartment has a manual as well as several SD cards and I have to fish through those to find what I want. I have since added a D70 that is primarily my photo booth camera but I'd like to carry it on occasion. I will be adding a permanent second body to the mix and an 85 f/1.8 is in the very near future. Last time I had the same lineup plus the 85 I usually had to pick and choose which lenses to take.

What I would like is something that will comfortably fit my gear with a little room to expand as necessary and the ability to keep it organized and protected. I had started with looking at Domke bags as they've been on my radar for a while, but I just don't know. I like the padding on the 7MDH and want something that would be just as protective. I have my eye on the F-1X but I don't know if it's going to be too big and if it's going to provide the protection I need. I'm still going to keep the 7DMH and 5MDH I have on hand to use when it's needed but I'd like to find a shoulder bag that will fit all my gear and last me.

Also, weather protected isn't an absolute must but it's something I would appreciate. I have a Chrome messenger bag that fits my laptop that I carry for work and school. It has a lifetime warranty and is water resistant. It has been perfect so far. If I could find a Chrome-esque bag that was large enough to haul all my stuff, I'd be happy.

I just ordered one of these. https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1445993

Super cheap.

I have the 7MDH as well and wanted something a bit bigger.

I just got a Lowepro Urban Reporter. Street retail, not rrp, in UK is £50. USA price will be around $70-80. Lots of room. I have 2 bodies, flash, 6 lenses, lots of filters and adapters, charger leads, and a padded slot for a 15"laptop as well. Weighs a ton fully loaded.

Canon EOS 70D, Canon EOS 600D, EF-S 18-55 ii, EF 55-200 USM ii, EF-S 75-300 iii, Tamron 28-80, Sigma 70-210. Pentax 50mm, Pentax 135mm, EF-S 55-250, Raynox Macro adapter, Neewer filters (CPL, UV, FLD & ND4), Fuji HS20 EXR (30X zoom ) & cable release, Yongnuo 560 iii & Luxon 9800A manual flashguns for the Fuji, Hama Star 63 tripod, Hongdek RC-6 remote control, Velbon DF 40 www.point-n-shoot.co.uk website.

I'm a huge fan of Think Tank Photo bags. As a person who used to own a 5MDH but have since moved heavily into Think Tank products.

If I were in your shoes, I would heavily consider the Urban Approach 10. This is a lovely bag.

Good luck.

First three Canon 5Ds. Some lights (some really fancy ones too). Some glass (maybe a few too many but who's keeping track?). Some cool stamps on my passport.

Doesn't really look any larger than the 7MDH.

My fiancee got me a Domke F-1x for Christmas. I love it, but now she's going to have to get me an 85 f/1.4 and a 2nd D750 to fill the empty spots. :D

See! That's the beauty of a Domke! There's always room for another lens or two (or three).

It might be a bit more than you're looking for, but I just love my Think Tank Urban Disguise 60. It regularly holds my 5d3 with a 16-35, 20-70, 70-200 and a flash. It still has plenty of room for other accessories. Its comfortable to carry and easy to access. I switched from a Domke Messenger style bag and couldn't be happier.

It looks taller, but not much bigger. The problem I would have with a taller bag is everything getting stacked on top of each other. My Domke F-1X that my fiancee bought me for Christmas is a bit longer, so I don't have to go digging underneath things to to other things. That was a concern with the Crumpler as well.

I'll take some photos and post a review. The one issue I know I have right this second is balance, but that should be fixed easily with just shifting some items around.
