Second shooter at a wedding

I was asked to be a second shooter at a wedding this past weekend (it was my first time), and I just have to say wow.
I have crazy respect and appreciation for all those who shoot weddings full-time. I only had to be there for the ceremony and reception, but the girl I was working with was there all day/night. So her 13 hours vs. my 5 hours...
I don't know how anyone has the energy (especially her, being 7 months pregnant), but it is awesome. My hats off to everyone in that line of photography!

13hrs is a long wedding day... plus pregnant. :O

Yup 13 hours is a very long day. We average 6 hour days, or I should say 6 hour packages, we offer 4 hour and 8 and we do get a few of each but the 6 hour is our go to for most clients.

12-13 is normal for me... and that is just the coverage start to end time. Stick travel, backups and sneak peeks on that and it is normally a 18-20 hour day.

just had 15 hours last sat and another 16hours on sun. not usual for me but does happen.
