Yes, from the sign in front of the Fiat (which is barely legible on the photo on my Smugmug site), it does seem to be the 750MM,

I enjoyed the video.

I don't know what the ownership situation is now, but it's a fantastically beautiful vehicle.
It's the same Victoria J that I posted to the Car Details thread.

A drop dead gorgeous 1932 MG F1 Magna in Alfa Romeo red with 1.3 litres (79 cubic inches) of screaming supercharged straight six.

For those who might like static close ups, I have these two showing how cleaner-than-clean this car is kept. It's so nice to see such an immaculate classic not just being driven, but driven hard with aplomb too.

Any photos of the motor? (I was going to say donk as that's what we call such, but thought I'd better check Mr Google. Sounds like that's a derogatory term over yonder )

All fantastic and thanks for sharing. So nice to see these surviving and thriving.

I don't have a picture of the engine (donk is fine, too!) but can report that it was just as immaculate and without an oil stain anywhere. By far the best concours car of the weekend - both on the hill and in the display area. Unfortunately, as I was preparing to photograph the engine bay the call came over the tannoy for the car to join the climbing queue.

I do though have some images of other cars that were also fabulous to watch and listen to going up the hill. Here are two. There was also an oily old Zeppelin-powered car that really did have a donk up front - as in donk, donk, donk, donk from the huge capacity slow revving lump!


An ERA, I think, though stand to be corrected.

I can only agree with Richard! That car is a beauty.

It was unusual to have the speedo in front of the driver in the old MGs. On most of them the important things like the rev counter was there and the passenger had the speedo. Those Jaeger instruments are the bees knees. It was a bit strange at first to see them increment though as they are cronometric and not drag. I had them on my MGTC. That was a wonderful car, but not quite in the same league.

I still have 2 souvenirs from my TC, the rad cap and the Aero screens. I came across another rad cap just before I sold the car on return from my posting in Singapore. Well, I had to keep part of it

edit : - Charley, I too think that's an ERA mate. The silver jobbie? May well be a special? And that Zel lump !! They were big old donks weren't they.

So as not to intrude on other replies. Here's a couple of shots not taken by me, but of me in my TC.

I was stationed in Singapore from late 66 to mid 69 and in that time I was lucky enough to get my 1946 MGTC, bought from a Rock Ape, R.A.F Regiment to some ( ) officer. It needed quite some TLC when I first got it. The biggest problem was getting parts. So I didn't manage to get it just how I wanted it. It was my only transport and used every day to get to and from work at R.A.F.Tengah.

It took me 3 months to get it on the road and this is what it looked like at one point

It was a bit special and I was told that in the 50s it had been entered in the Singapore Formula Libre GP. The block, not the head, had been skimmed to up the compression ratio and it had 10" ali finned brake drums and not the normal smaller steel drums. under the bonnet was quite different too. The rocker box cover was ali and there were MG badges all over the place. Rocker box cover nuts, aircraft type oil filler and the ali air intake manifold. It also had a Brooklands 4 spoke steering wheel.

I used to sprint and auto test it with the FDCS Forces Driving Club Singapore. That was great fun. I was in the sports car entries and up against a Frog Eyed Sprite, Triumph TR3A and the like. I normally came last or near, but nobody had as much fun in the auto tests than me

Laterite clay sprint. Very dusty and slippery dry and total glue when wet!

That was about as much fun as you could have with yer trousers on
