A couple of classics.
928 Porsche (with 350 badge on the rear)
And my giant killer. Just a replica, but with all the right running gear. Holden 1972 LJ Torana.

It is a '58 - What's of more interest to me is that Porsche 928 (Think 1983) behind it on the right.

Lou

I saw that. I especially liked the TR7 roadster behind it too (I used to have one).

Very common here too. We had the 1600, 2 Litre, and 3 Litre V6, none of the RS3100s though.

I had a '73 (I think) Capri bought used when I moved to Los Angeles in the late '70s. Red with manual trx and stock engine. And a broken gas gauge, had to guess when it needed fuel........good times.....

It looked just like this one.

What's the chance?
Today I came across this Capri.
I thought it might be a 302, but far more likely the number plate is referring to an XR Falcon with a 302.
They were Aussie Falcons, 1966-1968. We never got the 2 door versions. XR, XT, XW, XY Falcons were all 4 doors.
I'd say it is a 3 litre V6 as per the badge.

I have never looked up the weight of a V6 Capri, it seems likely 1060kg is accurate.
My Torana posted above was 980kg.
Absolute feather weights compared to modern small cars.

Cool!! In the US they were badged Mercury. I think mine had a small v-6 but it was not a road rocket by any means. A functional small 2 door is how I remember it. Had no performance parts whatsoever.

I reckon you would be flat out trying to find someone who could tune them nowadays. I had a similar set up many years ago on a Dodge 250 (Gold motor) Slant six in a VE Valiant. So much torque I kept snapping the right hand (low side) engine mounts until I had some solids made up.

No, it would be easy. You don't even need someone who knows how to do it, just someone who can watch youtube and understand what they see and now how to apply what they learn.
Or just read if that's their preferred method. Or ask an old timer they know.
Plenty of racers are using multiple Webers. Rally, speedway (midgets), drag, hill climbs, sports cars etc.
Just googling will give you a list of people who can do it.

I'm not sure if this old Austin is a classic or a candidate for one of the ugliest cars ever produced. I understand beauty is in the eye of the beholder but to me this thing is 100% pug-ugly!
