Google says it's a Vauxhall Wyvern LIX - 1948-51'ish...

there's a pic (not mine) on Flikr that describes it as being "Holden Bodied" here: https://www.flickr.com …/50415738@N04/6105258199/ (external link)

Not sure about the ragtop, but a very nice looking car!

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

thanks Joeseph. Yes that looks to be it.
I wish I'd got some more photos of it, but I got bailed up midway by a lady and she talked for too long and I lost my opportunity

Wow. That's some machine.
Did you hear it running Colin?

I gather that little tank on the side isn't the petrol tank :p

Yes Richard, heard it running as the photo was taken at the Kop Hill Festival and it made several trips up the hill. The sound was not that different to any of these large capacity early speed machines but the start up was something else - I think several of the inhabitants of local graveyards cocked an eye and muttered "WTF!"

So many details to take in when you look at these "contraptions" - I was taken by the gearing which I suspect goes a long way in explaining that torque figure quoted in the text in Lowrider's post.

Thanks.
Thats just mind boggling.
The details. I thought that hammer, assume that's what it is, was for knocking off the wheels, but they're large nuts.
Love to see and hear it start up.

This video gives a nice overview even if I remember the start up being somewhat louder. Also the fact that it can be driven on the road....
