I might be out of line, but so many photos all of girls in short skirts...it just seems really creepy to me. Sorry.

It seems to me any creepiness in this series is in the mind and eye of the beholder. These are shots of adult women dressed as they wish to portray themselves in public.

Yeah, I was surprised to come back to the thread today and see the responses. I thought they were some pretty good street shots. Never entered my mind that they might be "creepy".

Ya, I suppose.... About 5 years ago I found a pic of my wife, who was not wearing anything revealing, hyperlinked back to the original on my website. Found it displayed on some website for dudes with an Asian fetish, the guy was too dumb to just download and repost it himself. That incident is what swayed me to agree with those on the "creepy" side of the argument, but you do have a valid point.

Voyeur, not stalker. I have a lot of images of beautiful Asian women. A few books someday. Something about feminity not being criminal.

Edit/disclosure: My wife is Guangzhou and I have the flu.

Ahhh, a friendly neighbor from the North. BTW, Spratly called and he wants his islands back. ;-)a

We might as well hang this conversation out to dry, no one is going to budge from their position and its evolved into a discussion on artistic freedom... The poor guy that started this thread is probably long gone, his original intent hijacked beyond recovery.

Having lived in SE Asia for five years, it is the style there. It is not uncommon to see younger girls wearing short skirts. It might come from having to wear school uniforms all their lives.

That was what I was asking earlier, but I was only in Shanghai for a few days, so I wouldn't claim any particular knowledge. I noticed a lot of younger women wearing shorts or short skirts, with clunky boots (November). Some of them reminded me of anime characters.

It's just that they all look like hookers. That was my first thought.

Of course it's a warm country.

Maybe the photog should now photograph homeless people that are well worn, preferably dirty and ugly. Oh wait! Then the photog would be exploiting them and their unfortunate situation! These discussions go nowhere....by the way, I love the scooter shot!

It amazes me. Homosexuality and transgenderism are now widely accepted as normal in the US but photos of pretty girls in short skirts is "creepy". What a brave new world.

Ridiculous that you say they look like hookers. What rock do you live under?

Come on man, my wife is from there. She rocks some things way too short for US consumption.

So how do hookers dress in your location? Ultrashort skirts prevail on them in this city, if I can trust news photos. They also carry big purses. It's almost a uniform. I don't find the "hooker" comment ridiculous.

PRONOUN ADVISORY: OhLook is a she. | A FEW CORRECT SPELLINGS: lens, aperture, amateur, hobbyist, per se, raccoon, whoa | Comments welcome

I think even a bit of fashion sense will tell you the women in these pics are wearing very nice clothing, and not "hooker-wear". Their clothes just happens to be a bit more revealing than some of us in the US are comfortable with. If you can imagine that there might be cultural differences it is not too hard to avoid suggesting that they are hookers.
