Yes, of course. However, the suggestion isn't ridiculous when it's an easy first impression among viewers in other parts of the world. Miniskirts haven't been in style in my area, for general wear, since about 1970--and the skirts pictured are extremely mini-.

my most recent (past) girlfriend is VN... you have captured genuine shots. Despite what you (the general populous of posters here) think images tell about the women you see... many times you are just looking at a sexy woman... for example, my g/f did not have sex until she was 28. a woman's thinking is different in VN versus a western woman.

I don't think so. We just have a lot of hookers, so the idea comes easily to mind.

This type of thread is an Excellent example of needing input from balanced women's point of view. Bring then on ~

I should add that Bay Area media often report on aspects of the sex-work industry, from articles decrying human trafficking to news about efforts to get prostitution legalized and interviews with leaders of sex-positive organizations. (Or maybe I shouldn't add anything, since I'm already getting flak!) This kind of personal service is featured so often in what I read that it seems like a major part of society.

Nobody said that the women pictured probably are hookers. It's only that they look like them to people used to current local (i.e., not Vietnamese and not 1960s) fashions.

Sorry, gotta throw a flag on that one ....

As someone who is married to Vietnamese woman and has lived in Viet Nam, I can ensure you that Vietnamese women, like American Women, are primarily Women first, and whatever cultural differences separate them are a VERY distant second. ..........and Western men can toss the submissive Mini-skirt-Wearing Asian women stereotype out the window; piss them off and you will feel the wrath, just like in the US.

The VAST majority of Vietnamese women, in Viet Nam anyways, do not go around all day in heels and a mini-skirt. There pics more than likely were taken outside a club, or the women were on the way/to from a club, upscale café, or some other event like a wedding.

A little disappointing.

this is a photography forum. In the G&N section people get kicked out for posting the kind of comments that were made here about the subjects. Some of the comments made here were needlessly insulting, and frankly bordered on racist. Without question insensitive.
